Polar Coordinates
Polar coordinates in Core Pure involve representing points in a plane using radial distance and angular measure from a reference point. The radial distance (r) and angle (θ) provide an alternative description of a point compared to Cartesian coordinates. These coordinates are particularly useful in applications such as physics and engineering, simplifying the representation of circular and rotational phenomena.
After watching the AJMaths revision videos onpolar coordinatesn I will be able to:
- Convert Between Cartesian and Polar Coordinates and Vice Versa
- Sketch Polar Curves
- Find the Area Enclosed by a Polar Curves
- Find Tangents to Polar Curves
- Answer Exam Questions on Polar Coordinates for A Level Further Maths
